The all-German race for the Winamax EHF Finals 2026 between SG Flensburg-Handewitt and Recken - TSV Hannover-Burgdorf is as tight as it gets, after the first-leg EHF European League Men 2025/26 quarter-final on Wednesday night ended in a 39:39 draw. That leaves the second leg, taking place next Tuesday with Hannover at home, completely open, with the aggregate win there for the taking.

We can see that we didn't play defence today. And that was not the plan before the game. Have to congratulate Hannover for the good game. We have a second game next week and we start from zero. I was hoping, a little bit, to go to Hannover with maybe a few goals more in our advantage, but it didn't work out.

Very difficult to play against them. I think we, maybe, deserved one better result. But it's a draw. This is the first match, the first leg. We need to play against them again on Tuesday. Next Tuesday, we need to prepare again. It's not easy, but this is 60 minutes. We need to play other 60 minutes with the same performance over there.
