TATRAN win thriller in Presov as Last 16 concludes

The Icelanders comfortably won the first leg 35:30 to set up an extremely exciting second leg over the weekend, but TATRAN fully used the advantage of the double-header being played in Presov as they secured a dominant 31:23 win (61:28 on aggregate) in the second match to fend off Hafnarfjordur's attempts to derail their European journey. The experienced playmaker, Marko Davidovic was the tie's top goal scorer with 17 goals over both legs.

• last season's quarter-finalists HCB Karvina ended their European Cup journey after a 29:29 second-leg draw against CSA Steaua Bucuresti. The Romanian side win 57:56 on aggregate
• fellow Romanians CS Minaur Baia Mare joined Steaua Bucuresti in the quarter-finals with a ruthless 34:25 second leg win against RK Vogošca, securing progression 70:51 on aggregate
• Zeljko Babic is off to a winning debut on the European stage at the helm of Olympiacos SFP with the Red and Whites defeating SSV Brixen in the double-header in Greece, 66:48 on aggregate

Determined Icelanders survive hectic Sabac atmosphere

Valur secured a place in the European Cup quarter-finals of after successfully defending their one-goal lead over RK Metaloplastika Elixir Sabac from last week's dramatic first leg in Reykjavik.

The Icelanders displayed strong character to mount a comeback after trailing by four goals (16:12) at the break. The visitors flew on the wings of left wing Ulfar Pall Monsi Þordarsson who was the match's top scorer with 10 goals to his name.

In the end, Valur secured a 30:28 second-leg win (57:54 on aggregate) and they remain unbeaten after eight matches played in the competition this season.
