Day review 1: German and French sides stay victorious in round 2
In the opening round of the EHF European League group matches, all the teams from Germany and France celebrated victories, and nothing has changed so far in round 2, as German sides THW Kiel and MT Melsungen won their matches, as well as French sides Montpellier Handball and FENIX Toulouse.
A weak performance from our side, we didn’t bring the energy and fighting spirit needed competing against a European team. We got stuck in their defence and faced a team that played long attacks with three right-sided players, and with a strong defence that we couldn’t break.
We have played a very good match against a very strong team who is leading the Swedish league. Defensively we have done it perfectly with the help of our goalkeeper. We deserved it because we have been working very hard. This victory will make us fly!
Physically they (Toulouse) were better than us, and we had significant problems with their aggressive style of playing in defence. We’ll need to find more stability in our team in order to win these types of matches in the future.
We got off to a good start and did well in our defense today. It felt like we were in pretty good control throughout the entire game. When I played in Lugi we lost many games here, so this time it was really nice to finally win in Partille.
