The Conference brings professional and scientific experts together to reflect on different topics relevant to handball today. The overall goal is to bridge the gap between science and practice in terms of a sustainable environment, which encompasses areas such as health science, training science, and technology support.
Sport plays an important role in achieving the United Nations’ Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs). In turn, sustainability is becoming an increasingly important concept across all areas of modern handball — from encouraging lifelong participation and reducing the physical and mental toll of professional players to enhancing the role of handball in advancing educational and health initiatives promoting sport as an essential component of a sustainable future.
Specifically with regard to handball, the focus of the Scientific Conference will be on sustainable grassroots development and a lifetime of activity through our sport. Emphasis will be placed on the importance of certain stages in handball education and development and its utilisation in relation to various age groups, social aspects, and more.
Alongside sustainability and grassroots development, the core topics addressed in the Conference will include women’s handball, coaching, injury prevention, rehabilitation, nutrition, biomechanics, anthropometrics, mental support and training.
