A major individual milestone was reached in the PSG vs Zagreb match: with the strike for 32:26 in the 47th minute, PSG wing Ferran Sole hit the 100-goal mark in the Champions League!

Zagreb hold on to clinch the two points against Zagreb with a confident final score line. With that, they join Magdeburg on six points and remain among the top three in group A. Zagreb stay on two points in seventh place.

One quarter of the match remains in Kielce, and it looks very much like we are set for a late decision as to the winner, with the score still level (29:29). 

In such a tight game, it's interesting to note the difference in certain statistics — the main one being shooting percentage, where Kielce are far above Kiel with a rate of 76 per cent while Kiel have shot at 59 per cent up to now. Of course, a large part of that is the performance of Kielce keeper Andreas Wolff, who has racked up 13 saves to Niklas Landin's seven in Kiel's goal.

Over in Paris, Zagreb are fighting hard to reduce the deficit against them and have managed to do so slightly, as they are five goals behind (33:28) inside the last 10 minutes. But PSG can certainly hope to keep the two points at home at this stage.

The last matches of round 4 have resumed and so far we are still enjoying a thrilling encounter in Kielce, as Erik Johansson nets his fifth to level at 21:21 for Kiel at the 35-minute mark. 

In Paris, the home side have extended their advatage a touch, now at 26:19 in the 38th minute.

PSG look to be on track to extend their impressive series against Zagreb, which has seen the French team win eight of the last 10 encounters, and one other end in a draw. Zagreb last beat PSG in 2014 — and with this clear score line at half-time, it does not look as though that record is going to change tonight.

But nothing is confirmed until the final whistle — let's see if the Croatian team can pull off a second-half comeback!

21:22 HALF-TIME UPDATE: KIELCE VS KIEL 19:19

An exciting clash is unfolding in Kielce, as we go to the break in Poland with the score completely level. We already saw two matches with either level or almost level scores at half-time turn into clear wins for the victors — will one of the teams manage to create a clear gap in this encounter or will we see a thriller to the end? 

At half-time, the score board is decorated with many names, as almost every player across both squads has contributed a goal or more.

Hope turns out to be short-lived for Zagreb, as PSG start to show their superior strength from the 13th minute (6:5) on and now hold a commanding advantage of 15:8 with 10 minutes to go in the first half. 

Highlighting weakness in Zagreb's defence, the top scorer of the match so far is PSG line player Kamil Syprzak, with five goals. On Zagreb's side, the scoring responsibility has been shared by two players mainly — Karpo Sirotic and Aleks Kavcic, with three goals apiece. 

In Kielce, it's a tight game in the 22nd minute, with the Polish team leading Kiel 15:13.

10 minutes played in Paris and so far Zagreb are really holding their own against the home side, with the score at 4:3. It's a particularly impressive feat as PSG goalkeeper Jannick Green is absolutely on fire, with four saves at a rate of 57 per cent through these opening minutes.

A solid start from Kielce against THW Kiel, with the Polish team scoring two unanswered goals and Andreas Wolff coming out on top against a penalty shot from the German team to get the game started. The Kielce captain played for Kiel for three seasons before moving to Kielce in 2019/20. 

Both sides entered this game with four points from two victories so far in the season. They are two recent title winners or finalists in the competition, with Kielce finishing as runners-up last season after a thrilling final against Barça and Kiel raising their fourth trophy in 2020.

Magdeburg finish with a clear victory over Plock and will be sure to finish round 4 in at least third position on the group A table, with now six points in their account. PSG, still to play at 20:45 CEST tonight, could join them on six, while Plock remain on four points. 

20:20 RESULT: PICK SZEGED VS AALBORG 29:41

A huge disappointment for Szeged as they finish with a decisive defeat at the hands of Aalborg. Alongside the other two teams who entered round 4 with zero points (Porto in group A and fellow group B side Elverum), Pick Szeged will continue to wait for their first win of the season. 

20:14 RESULT: MOTW ELVERUM VS BARÇA 30:46

Barça collect another two points with a commanding win in the MOTW and will finish round 4 alone on top of group B. Elverum are left at the bottom of the table, still waiting for their first points of the season.

What looked like a promising game for Pick Szeged has really gotten away from the Hungarian side, with Aalborg now romping toward a victory, as they lead 32:25 with 12 minutes to go. 

Sebastian Barthold and Mikkel Hansen are leading the charge for the Danish team, with eight and nine goals, respectively. But a key difference may be between the posts, where Aalborg's goalkeepers Mikael Aggefors and Simon Gade have recorded a much better save rate than Szeged's Roland Mikler and Mirko Alilovic — 32 per cent to 24 per cent. 

The situation is the same for Plock, who were so close through the first half but have now fallen behind Magdeburg, with the score at 27:20 for the German team. 

In the MOTW, Barça remain clear in front with a 10-goal margin in their favour against Elverum, 38:28.

All three matches have resumed with the second halves. In the MOTW, Barça are not faltering as they hold on to their commanding advantage, 30:20 in the 39th minute. 

After very close first halves in the other two games live now, the stories have completely changed now.

In Szeged, Aalborg have really taken control, keeping Pick to only one goal in the opening six minutes of the period while scoring five to pull away to a clear lead of 22:16. It looks like Szeged's chance to take their first win of the season is slipping away...

In Magdeburg, it's the home side that have crept away from their opponents. Magdeburg have also only allowed their rivals, Plock, one goal in the opening seven minutes of the second period while scoring five themselves. It's now 22:17 for the German side. 

19:25 HALF-TIME UPDATE: SZEGED VS AALBORG 15:17

A first half that was either level or saw a narrow lead of a couple of goals with the home side ends with Aalborg grabbing the upper hand in the last five minutes before the break and taking a two-goal advantage into the break. 

Aside from Slovenian back Mario Sostaric, with five goals scored from five shots, it seems to be a tough night individually for Szeged. Aalborg are far eclipsing Szeged in the stats, with a very high shot percentage of 81 per cent while Pick have scored at 62 per cent. 

19:22 HALF-TIME UPDATE: MAGDEBURG VS PLOCK 17:16

What a game unfolding at SC Magdeburg! The home side scrape into half-time with a one-goal edge, but the two points here are clearly far from decided. 

Plock's Sergei Kosorotov is having a blinder, with seven goals scored at 100 per cent accuracy. 

19:19 HALF-TIME UPDATE: MOTW ELVERUM VS BARÇA 15:23

Very little trouble for Barça in the opening half of the MOTW, with the defending title holders taking an eight-goal lead into the break in Norway. The statistics tell the story clearly...look at that shooting percentage for Barça!

11 goals is the theme of the moment — at roughly the 20-minute mark across the three courts, four of the six teams count that many goals on the score board right now. 

In the MOTW, Elverum's recovery that brought a closer game against Barça has fallen short, with the Norwegian side now trailing 11:17. Barça backs Timothey N'guessan and Luka Cindric, and wing Aleix Gomez, are doing by far the most damage, with a combined 13 goals. Elverum's 21-year-old centre back Tobias Grøndahl is the most important key for his side, leading with four goals — and take a look at a great assist from him below. 

In Germany, it's still a completely level game, with the score in Magdeburg vs Plock currently at 11:11. In Szeged, the score board is almost identical, with Pick in front of Aalborg 11:10.

10 minutes into our three opening matches on day two of round 4, we have a series of close matches on our hands. After falling behind by four goals in the opening eight minutes, Elverum have closed the gap on Barça and are now only two behind, 6:8. 

In Szeged, the home side have a promising narrow lead over Aalborg, 6:4, while the score in Magdeburg, where the German side are facing Plock, is level at 7:7. 

Magdeburg and Plock are level in group A, with four points each, so are in a direct contest to separate themselves on the table.

Szeged are highly motivated for a win here, having lost all three matches so far in the season. They are one of three teams to sit on zero points so far, along with Elverum and Porto. Aalborg have won two games and count four points in their account. 

Aalborg's new arrival Mikkel Hansen is one of the top scorers of the season, with 20 goals. Szeged's leading scorers are back Richard Bodo and wing Bogdan Radivojevic, with 13 goals apiece.

Let's take a look at some key facts about the MOTW, Elverum vs Barça. 

Alongside Veszprém, who extended their winning streak last night against GOG, Barça are the only team yet to drop a point in the 2022/23 season. The Spanish powerhouse have never lost to Elverum, across four games, including the play-offs in the 2020/21 season. 

Barça entered round 4 with the lowest number of conceded goals in group B (86), while Elverum had scored the fewest goals in the group (81). Historically speaking, Barça's experience in the Champions League is far greater than Elverum's, with 353 games in the top-flight competition and 270 wins, while Elverum have played a total of 89 games and won 23.

It's a tough task for the Norwegian side, but they hope for a record-breaking crowd to help them pull off an upset. 

Barça right back Dika Mem is among the competition's top scorers, with 22 goals in three games.

Magdeburg and Plock last met in the EHF European League semi-final in 2021, when Magdeburg qualified for the final after a 30:29 win - and the two still seem evenly matched, with similarly strong defensive records so far in the Champions League. Expect a tight contest.

Meanwhile Szeged are still looking for a win after a poor start to the season, but Aalborg are riding high with four points to their account, buoyed perhaps by a strong showing from their star summer signing Mikkel Hansen. Last season, Szeged won 31:28 at home, but Aalborg beat them 34:30 in the return leg.

Let's take a look at the standings after this opening night of round 4.

Following their fourth consecutive win tonight, Veszprém are sure to stay alone on top of group A after this round, as their nearest rivals — PSG, Magdeburg and Plock — are all on four points. 

Dinamo climbed the group A table with their victory, and now count three points in their account to sit on the same tally as GOG. With Zagreb still to play their round 4 match, the Romanian team could fall a position, but are sure to stay in the top six in the group after starting the round in seventh place. 

In group B, Nantes have at least temporarily leapt past several of their rivals and now occupy first position with six points. Barça, yet to play their round 4 game, also have six points, while Kiel, Aalborg and Kielce (all still to play round 4) are on four points. Celje stay on two points following their loss and are in sixth, but they could fall a position or two tomorrow based on the results of the lower ranked Szeged and Elverum.

22:19 RESULT: GOG VS VESZPRÉM 30:31

What a finish! GOG had their promising lead in the last minutes but Veszprém's experience pulled them through in the critical last stage. With the two last strikes of the game, from Dragan Pechmalbec and lastly Petar Nenadic, the Hungarian side turned a one-goal deficit into a one-goal win and secured their fourth straight victory of the season.

Right inside the last two minutes of the game, GOG hit the lead, 30:29, thanks to a goal from Emil Madsen. 

Although it has been close, GOG have not had the lead since the 13th minute of the match until these closing minutes. Morten Olsen was the first to take the home side there in the second half, scoring for 29:28 in the 57th. Veszprém levelled again before Madsen's strike, giving GOG the edge in a critical moment.

Nine minutes on the clock. One-goal lead for Veszprém (25:24). GOG with possession aiming to equalise. 

What can separate these two? Could we be about to see the second draw of the season? If so, GOG will have been involved in both draws so far, as they were part of the first in round 2 versus Dinamo. That also occurred on their home court in Denmark. 

Of course, the Danish team hope to clinch the win outright, and have done everything right to position themselves for that at this late stage.

The final quarter of GOG vs Veszprém begins with a level score, 21:21. Even playing away, Veszprém have the experience of winning encounters like this on their side, but GOG are certainly in with a chance to cause an upset and end the Hungarian team's perfect record in the 2022/23 season.

GOG are proving the half-time distance of two goals was far from decisive enough for Veszprém to feel comfortable, quickly pulling the game back to level as the second period began. The score is now level at 19:19.

And it's really equal everywhere on the court, with both goalkeepers (Rodrigo Corrales for Veszprém and Tobias Thulin for GOG) putting on a great show. Corrales has made 11 saves up to now, while Thulin tallies 10. Corrales' performance has been evenly spread across the two halves, with a save rate of 36 per cent for the first half and 33 per cent for the second. Thulin has really risen in the second period — he sits on a rate of 57 per cent for the second period after 27 per cent in the first.

I highlighted the stand-off between two high-scoring Danes in this clash earlier (Veszprém's Rasmus Lauge and GOG's Simon Pytlick), but it's Veszprém's French back Kentin Mahe who really stole the individual spotlight. He netted six goals before heading to the bench for a rest.

A rapid start from GOG sees them net a couple of fast breaks to take an early lead against Veszprém, 4:2 after three minutes. 

Veszprém are aiming to extend their perfect winning streak in the season, while GOG hope to add a second victory after collecting three points so far. 

GOG's win came in their season opener, away against Zagreb, before a draw against Dinamo and a defeat to Plock. Veszprém have taken wins against PSG, Porto and Dinamo.

A superb effort from Porto that ultimately falls short as Dinamo pull away in the final eight minutes. Porto remain one of only three teams in the competition with no points gained yet, alongside group B teams Szeged and Elverum, while Dinamo now count three points in their account.

Less than two minutes on the clock in Bucharest and the home side look to be on track for victory, as they lead by three at 30:27. 

What a match it's been, with Porto putting up a great fight in a very atmospheric arena completely behind Dinamo. 

20:14 RESULT: CELJE VS NANTES 24:35

Nantes were on their way to these two points from the start of the match and clinch them in style, with a decisive win of 11 goals. 

The victory takes Nantes to six points on the table, while Celje stay on two in sixth position.

It's getting very fiery in Bucharest, with less than 15 minutes to go and still a one-goal game. Dinamo are in front 22:21 as they hunt their first victory of the season. 

The Romanian team entered the match with one point taken from a draw against GOG in round 2. Both of their defeats were very close — by two goals to Magdeburg (28:30) and by three to Veszprém (33:30). Porto are not only hoping to take their first win but also their first point(s), having lost all their games so far, and more clearly than Dinamo. 

Over in Slovenia, Nantes are cruising towards their third straight win and their first away in 2022/23, leading Celje 28:21 in the 50th minute.

The second halves are underway with around five minutes played on both courts. In Bucharest, Ali Zein has just opened up a two-goal gap for Dinamo, 15:13, with his seventh goal of the match. 

Neither side managed to create an edge of more than one goal in the first half, but Dinamo are certainly flirting with doing so now. 

In Celje, the home side are still chasing the early deficit created against them, now trailing 17:23 against Nantes.

A close first 30 minutes in Bucharest end with Dinamo with the narrowest of edges over Porto. The stage is clearly set for a tough second half to decide these two points — and what would be the first win of the season for whoever clinches the victory.

The situation at half-time does not look great for home side Celje, who find themselves very much on the back foot versus Nantes. Almost all of Nantes' players made their way onto the score board in the first half, while Celje relied on three standouts: Tilen Strmljan (five goals at 100 per cent), Ziga Mlakar and Aleks Vlah (three goals each).

Just a few minutes to go until the break in Bucharest, and Dinamo and Porto are still locked in a one-for-one battle, with the visitors currenly leading by one, 12:11.

Roughly minutes into the two opening round 4 clashes, HBC Nantes have taken a commanding lead against Celje in Slovenia, leading 10:5, while Dinamo and Porto are in a tight battle with the Romanian team in front 7:6. 

Egyptian back Ali Zein has had a scorching opening for Dinamo, with four goals scored from four shots. In the match in Bucharest, Zein is followed closely by Porto's Jack Thurin with three goals. But both are eclipsed by Aymeric Minne, who has netted five for Nantes as they power through the first half against Celje.

After Dinamo vs Porto and Celje vs Nantes get us started with round 4 at 18:45 CEST, the opening night of the round will end with GOG hosting Veszprém. 

The match will feature a stand-off between two Danish backs that rank inside the top 10 of the competition's top scorers: Veszprém's Rasmus Lauge and GOG's Simon Pytlick. Lauge has netted 20 goals at an impressive 80 per cent success rate, while Pytlick has scored 18. 

Denmark is the most represented nationality among the top scorers of the season so far, with three of them in the top eight.

Group B action gets underway in Slovenia, where Celje host Nantes in a duel between two teams that played in the EHF European League last season. But both, of course, are no newbies in the top flight: Celje won the title almost two decades ago, and Nantes made it all the way to the final in 2017/18.

Round 4 starts in just under two hours' time with one match in group A (Dinamo vs Porto) and one in B (Celje vs Nantes).

Dinamo and Porto are both looking for the way up as they are currently ranked seventh and eight, with one and zero points, respectively. While Porto's defence has held up well so far, with 91 goals conceded compared to Dinamo's 101, they have just been scoring not enough: just 74 times in three matches.

All 16 teams have played three matches now. Only two teams have won them all: Veszprém in group A, and Barça in group B. While we see Barça in action in tomorrow's Match of the Week against Elverum in Norway, Veszprém will try to stretch their undefeated status tonight.

Like Barça, the Hungarian side have a trip up North as they take on GOG in Denmark in the only match at 20:45 CEST.
